Sunlight and certain house lights can show everything not perfectly flat and smoothly sanded. By getting the ceilings textured, drywall finishers didn't have to be so careful (especially for some types of texturing). But where the cost was really saved was the fact that painters didn't have to charge a premium to paint them repeatedly. However, smooth ceilings have always been an option and many people prefer to spend the extra amount to have what they want. Besides, homeowners could save the extra amount by painting themselves. It is quite common that the homeowner or general contractor does the boarding themselves. This is so that instead of outsourcing a larger drywall contract with material delivery, boarding, scrap removal, and clean up, they or their employees can do all of that themselves and they will just have to find a taper to fix things up and get everything smooth as possible. The one downside to this is that the drywall finisher may not give a quote until after the job has been boarded. SCRAP DRYWALL TO GET RID OF?
Depending on the amount of gyproc you have to take away, filling up the back of your truck could result in too many trips back and forth to recycle your drywall. A trailer may be necessary. Maybe you don't have a truck either to even have that as an option. We can come pick it up and take it away for you so you don't have to stress about the mess. Renting a garbage bin can be a little costly and not worth it unless you are doing enough demolition to create a large amount of house scraps. If we are already a part of your renovation anyways, this is a cost effective task to deal with for you.
